By the time he graduated high school, Los Angeles native Ian Sloane had already performed at every venue on the iconic Sunset Strip in Hollywood. It was not long before his bass playing took him beyond Los Angeles. At 19, he was on the road with the Jane Carrey Band, opening for Mat Kearney, Kelly Clarkson, Chuck Ragan, Gavin Rossdale, and Switchfoot all across the US. In 2011, hip-hop artist Pigeon John took notice. He brought Ian on to play bass, guitar, and keys for both his US and European tours promoting the release of his album Dragon Slayer featuring the hit single “The Bomb.” While on tour with Pigeon John, Ian opened for acts such as Lady Gaga, General Electrics, Ben L’oncle Soul, Selah Sue, Yelle, and Alexandra Stan. You can watch Ian in several of Pigeon John’s music videos including “Set it Loose” and “So Gangster.” Currently, Ian keeps busy as a member of a professional musical cooperative that books world-class musicians to perform at private and corporate events, both domestic and international. And, when he is not on the road, he plays bass for the Los Angeles-based soul band Caught a Ghost.
Ian’s impressive experience as a performer and musician informs his style as a songwriter and producer. Versatile and innovative, Ian brings to every project what the artists he works with want – and need. As a multi-instrumentalist, his sense of production honors the richness of live instrumentation. He is also fluent in Pro Tools and electronic music production, so his work is contemporary and bold. Ian’s 200+ song library reveals his eclectic taste: not bound to one genre only, the music he creates ranges from R&B and rap to electronic pop, soul, and country. Most recently, Ian served as a producer and songwriter on Jordan Corey’s All That – EP (2015); Paige Nichol’s single “Burn” (2015); Claire Alys’s Creature-EP (2015); and Dyllan’s “Moments Like These” (2015) and “Try” (2015).
In 2015, Ian partnered with the post-production facility Movie Magic Media (MMM), an award winning content creation studio in Culver City. At MMM, Ian manages the production and editing of sound content for the original media projects handled by the studio.
